Washington, D.C. (July, 6, 2021) — On July 6, 2021, Americans for a Clean Energy Grid joined a broad coalition in support of Section 1005 (Siting of Interstate Electric Transmission Facilities) and Section 1006 (Rulemaking to Increase the Effectiveness of Interregional Transmission Planning) of the Energy Infrastructure Act discussion draft. In a letter to Senator Joe Manchin, the coalition, which represents a broad cross-section of the U.S. economy, including labor unions, environmental organizations, commercial and industrial customers, and energy trade associations, highlighted the importance of investing in the country’s electric transmission grid.
