June 5, 2025 (Washington, DC) – The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) wrapped up its two-day Technical Conference exploring the challenges of resource adequacy across the U.S. Americans for a Clean Energy Grid (ACEG) Executive Director Christina Hayes released the following statement:
“We commend FERC on another productive technical conference and share the Commission’s focus on the pressing issue of resource adequacy as demand growth surges and extreme weather events become more frequent. However, one topic missing from the conversation was the critical role that interregional transmission can play in supporting resource adequacy and meeting electricity demand reliably and cost-effectively. We look forward to continued engagement with FERC and encourage greater attention to how interregional transmission can enhance grid resilience and resource adequacy.”
